Creating A Sustainable Future

Focus on HSE

In alignment with our vision, mission, and values, we have implemented a robust Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) Policy. This policy ensures the consistent application of effective SHE practices, procedures, and processes across all sites and offices, promoting safe, sustainable operations and reliable maintenance.

Sekura has implemented 10 life-saving safety rules designed to protect both employees and contractors. To assess and map SHE risks, we employ tools like the Risk Heat Map, Strength of Defences Matrix, and Bowtie Diagram, ensuring the adequacy and effectiveness of our control measures.

To achieve the objectives outlined in the Policy, we have developed and issued several Operational control procedures that align with best industry practices. These procedures cover a range of safety measures, including lock-out/tag-out, bites & stings protection, arc flash protection, chemical safety, fall protection, SHE signs, ESG integration, GHG accounting, waste management, emergency management, fire protection and Management of Change. We have developed and implemented a customized SHE Passport training program, complete with qualified assessments tailored to different roles, aimed at building and enhancing competence.

As businesses face the growing risk of climate change, we are committed to shaping our operations with a focus on:

  • Strengthening our dedication to renewable energy, optimizing energy efficiency, minimizing our carbon footprint, and driving sustainability.
  • Promoting socio-economic development by creating local employment opportunities and CSR.
  • Prioritizing local procurement to support environmental sustainability while safeguarding the health and safety of our workforce.

SHE management system performance is evaluated quarterly using both leading and lagging KPIs to drive continuous improvement. We leverage advanced digital tools, such as Benchmark Gensuite and Rapid Learning, to monitor sustainability indicators, track incident reports and investigations, manage training programs, and ensure the timely closure of corrective actions.

The management systems of most of our portfolio companies have been certified by LRQA for compliance with leading standards, including ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System), ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System), ISO 27001:2013 (Information Security Management System), and ISO 55001:2014 (Asset Management System).
